Before we head into the dog days of summer here in Austin, TX we get a quickly fleeting six week window of amazing warm Spring weather.  This April make the most of our Spring time weather and get out and enjoy the many amazing events happening across Austin from festivals like the Art City Austin Fest to a local favorite the Old Settler's Music Festival out at Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood.  Check out some of our favorites happening throughout Central Texas below.

Summer is on the horizon and with so many warm weather days every year, you have to love the outdoors. And what is more outdoors than the Austin's public pools? Austin has some great pools from Deep Eddy Pool, the states oldest pool, to everyone's favorite, Barton Springs.  In the heat of the summer, our pools are a great place to cool off.  Barton Springs Pool, in the heart of a 358 acre park, itself measures three acres in size. It is fed from underground springs that keeps it at 68 degrees, even on hot summer days.  So grab your bathing suit and join us!

 

All Austin municipal pools have the same fee structure:

 

Seniors and children under 12, $1

Twelve to 17, $2

Adults, $3

Non-residents add $1

For all of you wondering just how quickly the Austin-area is growing, the official numbers for 2016 is in and the number is higher than what you expected!  The regional population now accounts for more than 2 million people and the Austin area alone has a net gain of 159 people a day.  

The federal agency released July 2016 estimates for 382 metros and 3,142 counties across the nation. Eleven major metropolitan areas, led by the Texas duo of Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth, are growing at a pace of more than 1,000 persons per week.

Home sales growth throughout the Austin-Round Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) in February 2017, indicating that the Central Texas housing market is beginning to normalize to more stable market conditions.

Brandy Guthrie, 2017 President of the Austin Board of REALTORS­® commented, “The Central Texas housing market is just now beginning to catch up to itself after years of unprecedented sales growth.
