After three years at the helm of Austin's University of Texas Charlie Strong was let go, shortly thereafter the hottest coaching prospect in the country was signed as the next head coach of the Longhorns.  A Texas Ex with deep ties to the state of Texas, including the last two seasons as head coach at the University of Houston, Tom Herman becomes the 30th head coach at Texas.

As we head towards the holiday season Austin home sales declined everywhere except within the city of Austin where home sales were up 7.5 percent year-over-year.  Average prices though were up across the board as demand is still high across Central Texas.  Engel & Volkers Austin CEO Michele Turnquist said " We expect prices to continue rising across the city and surrounding suburbs as we head into 2017, but some relief for buyers could be on the way in 2017.  Home builders across the Central Texas have kicked into high gear and we are expecting thousands of new homes to be completed."

MoPac Express Lane North Is Now Open 

The MoPac Express Lane North is now open from Ranch To Market 2222, South, to Parmer Lane, North.  The South bound side of the express lanes are expected to be open by the end of November.

The MoPac Express Lane will give drivers the option to bypass congestion on the 11-mile stretch of MoPac between Parmer Lane and Cesar Chavez Street and get to their destination without delay. MoPac is one of Austin's most important arteries, serving as a key route to downtown and points beyond. As a primary alternative to Interstate 35, MoPac carries more than 180,000 cars and trucks each day. By 2030, MoPac is projected to serve more than 320,000 cars a day. After Austin was named the 2nd best investment market just a year ago, the area has now climbed to the top spot eclipsing our neighbors to the North in Dallas!  According to the annual Emerging Trends in Real Estate report from PwC US and the Urban Land Institute, which interviews thousands of the top investors in the country this years top spot belongs to the Capital City!
